is set for Wednesday, August 11, 2010.
Come celebrate the life of our brother and friend, Pat, by joining us in doing one of the things he loved most: golf! When you do, you'll also help support Pat's love of animals. Proceeds go to the Lakeland Animal Shelter. In the first six years of The Turtle Open we have raised approximately $51,000! The Turtle Open has quickly become known as one of the best charity golf outings in the area.

This 18-hole scramble will once again be held at the spectacular Hawk's View Golf Club in Lake Geneva, WI, and is limited to the first 36 registered and paid foursomes (144 total players), so get your registration in early! If you are unable to complete a foursome, register as many players as you can and we will do our best to fill out your team. Click here for an Adobe PDF version of the registration form. Entry deadline is August 1. Please note that payment MUST accompany all registrations. (Entries and fees should be sent directly to the Lakeland Animal Shelter at the address shown on the form. Visa, Mastercard and Discover payments are also accepted; just provide your card number, expiration date, card ID security number, and name as it appears on the card in the space provided on the entry form.)
There will be a shotgun start at noon, with lunch, dinner, golf prizes, and raffle. If you're not an avid golfer but still want to participate you can join in the fun of the day by joining us for dinner and the raffle. Bring your friends! Pat also loved Hawaii, so wear your Hawaiian shirt and, of course, flip-flops too! You can see a photo album of the 2009 event here. One of the special events at this year's outing will once again be an opportunity to win a one-year lease of a new 2010 vehicle. (Through the generosity of anonymous donors, we are able to make this event possible. Thank you!) One par 3 hole will be designated as the event hole. The first person to make a hole-in-one on that hole WINS!!! More details will be available the day of The Turtle Open.

The Pat Sontag Memorial Golf Tournament golf committee received the 2009 Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Lakeland Animal Welfare Society at its annual Second Chance charity benefit dinner. Each member of the committee received a plaque with the following inscription: "For outstanding service to the Society through continuing and consistent giving of time and effort on the Pat Sontag Turtle Open".
